The Security Grind is an informal, public conversation about information security. Everything said at a table, written on this site, or sent in reply to a message is general information and opinion, shared for discussion only.
Not professional advice
Nothing here is security, legal, compliance, regulatory, insurance or financial advice for your situation. Before acting on anything you hear or read here, get advice from a qualified professional who knows your environment.
No professional relationship
Attending, reading this site or contacting me does not create a consulting, advisory, employment or other professional relationship with me or any business I’m associated with. Any professional engagement requires a separate written agreement.
No warranty
Security changes fast and conversations are casual. Information is provided “as is,” with no guarantee that it is accurate, complete, current or suitable for your systems.
Your decisions are yours
You are solely responsible for any changes you make to your systems, policies or practices. Test changes, follow your organisation’s change process, and only test systems you own or are authorised to test.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, arising from your use of, or reliance on, anything discussed at a meetup or published on this site.
Confidentiality
Meetups happen in public cafés and there is no confidentiality agreement. Don’t share confidential, regulated or employer-identifying information, live vulnerabilities, or anything you couldn’t say out loud in a coffee shop. I avoid repeating names or companies, as a courtesy and not as a legal obligation.
Personal views
Opinions are my own and don’t represent any employer, client or organisation.
Links and mentions
Mentioning a product, vendor or external site is not an endorsement, and I’m not responsible for third-party content.
Governing law
This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. I may update it at any time; the version on this page applies.
